Privacy notice
Last updated Oct 25, 2026
This notice explains, in plain words, what personal information Vizcaya Connect collects, why we need it, who can see it and how you can ask us about it.
Who we are
Vizcaya Connect is a business directory and tourism guide for Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines. You can reach us about anything in this notice at noscalkatherine@gmail.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, email address and password (the password is stored only in scrambled form) when you create an account or are invited as staff.
- Business details shown publicly: a business name, address, phone numbers, email, opening hours, links and photos. These are published on purpose so people can find the business.
- Claim documents and phone numbers: when you claim a business we ask for a document (such as a registration or permit) or a phone number we can call, so we can check the claim is genuine.
- Reports: the message you write when you report wrong information, and the contact details you choose to add.
- Abuse protection: to stop spam and repeated guessing we keep a scrambled (hashed) code made from your internet address or email. We cannot turn it back into the address, and we do not keep the address itself.
Why we use it
- To run your account and let you manage your business page.
- To check who owns a business before we let them change its page.
- To look into reports and keep the directory accurate.
- To keep the site safe from spam, fake accounts and password guessing.
- To email you about your account, claims and the changes you send us.
Who sees it
- Claim documents are private. Only the Vizcaya Connect team (staff and the owner) can open them, and only to verify the claim. They are never shown on the site.
- Report messages and contact details are seen only by our team.
- Your account name and email are seen by our team. They are not shown to other visitors.
- Business details you publish are public. Anyone can see them.
- We use trusted services to run the site (hosting, database, email delivery and a bot check). They handle data for us only to provide those services. We do not sell your information.
How long we keep it
We keep your account while it is open. Claim documents are kept while the claim is reviewed and afterwards for as long as needed to settle any dispute about the claim. Reports are kept so we can show what was fixed. Abuse-protection codes are deleted automatically after 30 days.
Your rights
Under the Data Privacy Act of 2012 you may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, object to how we use it, and complain to the National Privacy Commission.
To ask, email noscalkatherine@gmail.com. If you have a business-owner account, you can also sign in and use Request a copy or deletion of my data on the My business page. We reply by email. We may need to confirm who you are first, and we may keep what the law requires us to keep.
Changes to this notice
If we change this notice we will update the date at the top. Questions are welcome at noscalkatherine@gmail.com.
